SUPERIOR, Wis. – Sunday saw the final round of the Twin Ports Collegiate for the Yellowjacket women's golf team. Just a week ago the team shot the lowest round in program history, clubbing a collective 342 at the Falcon Invite. During the final round of their home event, the 'Jackets set a new program-best, a 340, to earn a second-place finish.
Tournament Notes
- Superior was led by the Yellowjacket duo of Abby Schintz (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) and Sophia Otto (Mequon, Wis./Homestead), who ended the day with 11-over 83's.
- Olivia Weyenberg (Stacy, Minn./North Branch) followed with a 46/38 split to end Sunday's round with an 84.
- Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) logged a 90 on the day, while Karin Hill (Duluth, Minn/Denfeld) rounded out the team with a 92.
- Makayla Ammerman (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson) ended the day with a 90, before Allie Maschke (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) followed with a 99. Wrapping up all Yellowjacket participants was Maya Siddiqui (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) and Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills), who finished with rounds of 101 and 108, respectively.
Superior hits the links this Thursday, competing at the UMAC Preview. Action at the Pebble Creek Golf Club will begin at 10 a.m. in Becker, Minn.
