SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Yellowjacket baseball team took on Carleton in a doubleheader Friday at the Gustie Baseball Field on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College. Given the anticipated forecast, both teams agreed to play a doubleheader and postpone the final two games of the four-game series to later in the season.

The 'Jackets utilized all facets of the game throughout the day, combining timely hitting and strong pitching to earn a sweep over the Knights, winning 17-4 in game one before winning 10-7 in game two.

Game One Notes
- Three runs were scored in the first two innings by the Yellowjackets. An RBI double off the bat of Tanner Voight (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) scored Paddy Kelly (Andover, Minn./Andover) who singled to right center to leadoff the inning. Devin Frydenlund (Belleville, Wis./Belleville) followed with an RBI single to give UWS a 2-0 lead.
- Brian O'Dwyer (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) provided the 'Jackets with a solo homer to right center, leading 3-1.
- After Carleton tied things up, Voight hit a three-run homer to right before the Yellowjackets exploded in the bottom of the fifth, scoring eight runs off of five hits.
- Cody Glasheen (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale), Isaac Johnson (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) and Adam Johaneson (Princeton, Minn./Princeton) each garnered base hits off a pinch-hit opportunity.
- In the bottom of the sixth, Dawson Rannow (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown) hit a homer to right field to score the 17th run of the ballgame, leading to a 17-4 win.
- Kelly went 3-4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases.
- Voight had five RBIs in the game.
- Kaden Corlett (Gordon, Wis./Solon Springs) took the win, allowing just four hits on three runs while striking out eight. Josh Pritchard (Surrey, British Columbia/Clayton Heights Secondary) followed with surrendering just one hit in three innings of work.

Game Two Notes
- The Knights opened the scoring with five runs in the first four innings of play. The 'Jackets responded with a four-spot in the bottom half of the fourth, highlighted by a two RBI double by Will Czech (Anoka, Minn./Anoka).
- UWS tied things up at 5-5 after a bases-loaded hit by pitch to Wylee Lottman (Kerkhoven, Minn./Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg), and a two-run homer to right-center by O'Dwyer allowed them to take the lead at 7-5.
- Three more runs came in the bottom of the eighth for Superior to lead 10-5 before the Knights scored twice in the top of the ninth. Ryker Ebert (Cameron, Wis./Cameron) settled in and got the final two outs of the inning to secure a 10-7 win.
- Voight went 4-5 with three runs scored.
- Carter Thielke (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing three hits and one run to pick up his first Yellowjacket win.

The Yellowjackets will now prepare for their spring trip to Florida. They will face Beloit in a doubleheader Sunday, Mar. 8 at the Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven.
