WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Tuesday morning the Yellowjacket baseball team continued their trip to the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, taking on Fitchburg State. The day was highlighted by freshman
Niles Monroe (Belleville, Wis./Belleville), who in his collegiate debut toed the rubber and struck out 10 in six innings of work, collecting his first win as Superior took a 12-1 win.

Game Notes
- UWS scored first after Noah Dagostino (Andover, Minn./Andover) singled before stealing a pair of bases. Tanner Voight (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) drove him in with a triple to right center before he scored off a wild pitch.
- Dante Westmiller (Maricopa, Ariz./Maricopa) logged his first collegiate knock with a one-out single to right field. He was brought around after Paddy Kelly (Andover, Minn./Andover) garnered an infield single and Dagostino hit a sacrifice fly, making the game 3-0.
- Four runs and four hits were collected by the Yellowjackets in their half of the fourth inning. Chase Oxborough (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) doubled down the left field line and later scored, Trey Sybrant (Saint Michael, Minn./Saint Michael-Albertville) would send a ball into the right center field gap, and the duo of Will Czech (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) and Voight hit RBI singles to lead the Falcons 7-0.
- Monroe gave way to Aiden Pfeifer (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie), who closed the final two innings. He capped his outing with just one run off two hits.
- As Fitchburg State scored in the eighth, the Yellowjackets responded with a five-spot. Adam Johaneson (Princeton, Minn./Princeton) drew a four-pitch walk to begin the inning, and Zach Flater (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) logged his first collegiate hit with a single to center field. Those two were plated off a Dagostino triple to left center to lead 9-1.
- Sybrant would follow with a double to left center, and Voight would seal the deal with a towering home run to left field, triggering the 10-run rule and giving the Yellowjackets a 12-1 lead.
- Voight paced offensively, going 4-5 with three runs scored and a quartet of RBIs.
- Dagostino stole two bags, while Sybrant and Voight each collected one.

The Yellowjackets (6-3) will take on Loras Thursday in Winter Haven. The opening pitch is set for 1:30 p.m. CT at Chain of Lakes Park.
