NEW ULM, Minn. - The Yellowjacket baseball team was on the road Friday afternoon for game one of their three game series with Martin Luther. The Yellowjackets used a big pitching performance from Carter Thielke (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) and a five-run eighth inning to propel them to victory over the Knights.

The first runs came in the fifth inning as Noah Dagostino (Andover, Minn./Andover) hit an RBI double that scored Niles Monroe (Belleville, Wis./Belleville) and Cody Glasheen (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) to make the score 2-0.

In the eighth inning Wylee Lottman (Kerkhoven, Minn./Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg) doubled to left field, plating both Trey Sybrant (Saint Michael, Minn./Saint Michael-Albertville) and Tanner Voight (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater). Lottman would score on a sacrifice fly from Monroe to make the score 5-0.

The 'Jackets added more insurance runs as Isaac Johnson (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) singled home Will Czech (Anoka, Minn./Anoka). Johnson would come around to score off a single from Paddy Kelly (Andover, Minn./Andover).
The Yellowjackets and Knights square off again tomorrow for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the MLC Baseball Field in New Ulm.
