NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Saturday the Yellowjacket men's track and field team returned after over a week away from competition, taking on the Manitou Classic hosted by St. Olaf. Fighting some stormy conditions, the Yellowjackets put forth yet another strong performance in a heat of opponents throughout NCAA Divisions I, II and III.

Meet Notes
- Braden Niessen (Rush City, Minn./Rush City) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.48 seconds.
- Kieran Bignell (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) set a pair of personal bests on the day, finishing with a race time of 12.30 seconds in the 100-meter dash and a 200-meter dash time of 25.01 seconds.
- In the 400-meters, Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East) took ninth in 52.80 seconds.
- Kyle Peterson's (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) 57.30-second finish in the 400-meter hurdles was not only good for second place but set a new personal best mark.
- Superior took home 1st-4th place in the 3k. Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) led the charge with medalist honors at 9:00.50, followed by Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips) (9:16.57), Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) (9:43.75) and Jayde Canfield (Prescott, Wis./Prescott) (9:51.70).
- Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) led in both the discus and hammer throws. His heave of 38.73 meters in the discus was good for eighth while his 50.53-meter chuck gave him second place in the hammer.
- Grabbing a personal best in the discus throw was Chase Pierce (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors), who placed 11th with a mark of 35.87 meters.
- The Yellowjacket quartet of Rene Sems (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) (4.00), Jason Thomas (Superior, Wis./Superior) (3.85), Isaac Hanson (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) (3.70) and Micky Little (Superior, Wis./Superior) (3.55) each finished fifth, eighth, ninth and 11th, respectively, in the pole vault.
- Sawyer Ferdon's (Motley, Minn./Staples-Motley) leap of 12.47 meters gave him top honors in the triple jump, followed by Tucker Briggs (Superior, Wis./Superior) (11.72 meters) and Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior) (10.90 meters), respectively.

The Yellowjackets are back next Saturday as they compete in the CSB/SJU Invitational. Action at Clemens Stadium is set for 11 a.m.
