SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Yellowjacket baseball team made their long-awaited home debut for the 2026 season in doubleheader action with North Central. In game one, the Yellowjackets need just eight innings to beat NCU 11-0 before walking off the Rams in game two 7-6. 

Game 1 Notes:  

• The Yellowjackets scored a pair in the third as Noah Dagostino (Andover, Minn./Andover) tripled in Brian O'Dwyer (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) before coming in to score on a single by Tanner Voight (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater).  

• In the fifth Trey Sybrant (Saint Michael, Minn./Saint Michael-Albertville) would knock in Paddy Kelly (Andover, Minn./Andover) to make the score 3-0. Voight would later score Dagostino on and RBI double before scoring on a Wylee Lottman (Kerkhoven, Minn./Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg) single.  

• The Yellowjackets would tack on two more in the fifth as Carter Thielke (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) doubled home both Lottman and Will Czech (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) to make it 7-0.  

• In the sixth, a Lottman hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded added another Superior run. In the seventh, a double from Kelly scored O'Dwyer to make 9-0.  

• Voight would end the game in the eighth as he launched a two-run home run to run rule the Rams 11-0.  

• Kaden Corlett (Gordon, Wis./Solon Springs) earned the victory on the bump pitching six innings allowing five hits and striking out six. Gio Basile (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire North) pitched the final two for Superior, allowing just one hit while striking out two.  

Game 2 Notes: 

• The Rams struck first with five runs in the first inning to take the early advantage. 

• The Yellowjackets would answer with two runs in the first as Voight singled in Dagostino and O'Dwyer singled in Voight. 

• The Rams would add another run in the fourth inning, making the score 6-2.  

• The Yellowjacket offense would come alive in the eighth as a two RBI double from Thielke scored both Isaac Johnson (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) and Owen Farrington (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake Area) to make it 6-4. Dagostino would trade places with Thielke to make it 6-5. Sybrant would bring home Dagostino on an RBI single to knot the game at six.  

• After a shutdown inning from Kevin Rahe (Princeton, Minn./Princeton) in the top of the ninth, the 'Jackets would walk off the Rams as a single from Sybrant brought in Chase Oxborough (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) for the 7-6 victory.  

• Thielke made the start pitching for Superior giving up six runs on seven hits while striking out six. Ryker Ebert (Cameron, Wis./Cameron) would come on in relief in the eighth inning and Rahe would earn the win on the mound for the 'Jackets. 

The Yellowjackets (17-11, 8-3 UMAC) are again in action tomorrow against North Central. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex in Superior.
