SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Yellowjacket men's tennis team resumed Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play Thursday, taking on Northwestern. After dropping the doubles point, the Yellowjackets and Eagles would go toe to toe until UNW came away with a narrow 4-3 win.

- The lone Yellowjacket tandem of Mateo Abarca Pino (Riobamba, Ecuador/El Despertar) and Keanu Lin (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) defeated their Eagle counterparts 6-4 in the third doubles position.
- Igor Guetten Chaves (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) fell 6-1, 7-5 to Carson Haack at the top singles spot.
- Superior won Nos. 2-4 singles, beginning with a 6-3, 6-1 victory from Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School). Yash Chhabra (Jaipur, Rajasthan/Sanskar School) won in straight sets of 6-0, 6-3 at the third slot, while Abarca Pino defeated Zander Peterson 6-4, 6-0.
- Kepa Gallo took down Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber) 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5 singles before Lin dropped a 7-5, 6-1 decision at the sixth slot.
The Yellowjackets will return to action Thursday where they take on St. Scholastica. Action inside the Longview Tennis Club is set for 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
