ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The Yellowjacket baseball team continued its hot hitting Friday, as they opened their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) series with Crown on the right end of a 16-5 victory at Missile Park.

Game Notes
- Superior began with a three-run second inning, with Brian O'Dwyer (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) clubbing a two RBI single to plate Isaac Johnson (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) and Niles Monroe (Belleville, Wis./Belleville).
- Later Noah Dagostino (Andover, Minn./Andover) doubles to plate O'Dwyer, taking an early 3-0 lead.
- O'Dwyer would strike once again, plating Monroe and Carter Thielke (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) who both drew two-out walks in the third inning.
- After a Yellowjacket wild pitch, the Polars got on the board in the bottom of the third inning. Superior would respond quickly, though, collecting three runs to lead 8-1.
- Dagostino singled to leadoff the top of the fifth before Trey Sybrant (Saint Michael, Minn./Saint Michael-Albertville) drew a seven-pitch walk. An RBI single off the bat of Tanner Voight (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) drove in the ninth run of the ballgame before Thielke hit a sacrifice fly to plate Sybrant.
- Leading 10-3, Crown would score two in the fifth to trail by five at 10-5.
- Superior would once again respond in the next half inning, as Johnson came around to score on a wild pitch before Sybrant hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Paddy Kelly (Andover, Minn./Andover), who reached on an error earlier in the inning.
- Voight, Wylee Lottman (Kerkhoven, Minn./Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg) and Monroe each collected hits in the top of the eighth where Superior took a 16-5 lead and ultimately claimed the series-opening win.
- Voight led with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored on the day.
- With the win, it secures the 100th victory for TJ Oakes as Superior's head coach.
