EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (February 10, 2018) – The Yellowjackets played in their second match of the season at high noon on Saturday, after having a previous match cancelled. The 'Jackets fought hard, but came up short to the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds.

Doubles

The Yellowjackets saw good action in doubles, as they took points in three of the four matches. The No.1 duo of Josiah Borst (Becker, Minn./Becker) and Leonardo Paredes (Campinas, Brazil/Sao Paschoall) grabbed two points, while the No. 4 team of Petar Bulatovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Lee Academy) and Harry Simpson (Derby, England/Derby Moor C.C.) also took two points from Eau Claire.

Singles

Bulatovic showed his stamina in the singles match; playing the No. 4 position, he pushed the opposing Blugold to a 7-5 first set, but fell 6-0 in the second. Borst also was able to get a few points in his singles sets, going 6-0 in the first, but rebounded for a 6-3 loss.

Head coach Kolin Dean like the confidence he saw in his players, saying "I like what I'm seeing, we may have fell short, but we're making great strides in the right direction."

Superior will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Hamline University to play the Pipers at 12 p.m.
