SUPERIOR, Wis. (April 20, 2018) – In their first outdoor contest of the inaugural season, the Yellowjackets continued their winning streak by sweeping the Crown College Storm.
Doubles
Josiah Borst (Becker, Minn./Becker) and Will Sherman (Baton Rouge, La./St. Michael) saw the biggest battle in the no. 1 position, beating the opposition of Caleb Baumann and Romeo Mork by an 8-3 score. No. 2 group of Leonardo Paredes (Campinas, Brazil/Sao Paschoall) and Chad Hietala (Aurora, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) were clicking with an 8-1 win, while Grady Hauswirth (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) and Gavin Mangan (Henderson, Nev./Basic Academy) saw a clean sweep of the Storm 8-0.
Singles
Clayton Tanner (Waseca, Minn./Waseca) swept the competition in the no. 6 position, going 6-0 and 6-0 in his match, while Harry Simpson (Derby, England/Derby Moor C.C.) fought back in his second set to win by a 6-2, 6-0 score at no. 4. Petar Bulatovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Lee Academy) was solid on the day, beating Chad Anenson by a 6-0, 6-2 score.
