SUPERIOR, Wis. (April 22, 2018) – The Yellowjackets completed the weekend sweep Sunday afternoon, defeating the Bethany Lutheran Vikings.

Doubles

Superior won two of the three doubles matches; Leonardo Paredes (Campinas, Brazil/Sao Paschoall) and Chad Hietala (Aurora, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) had a hard fought match in the no. 2 position, winning by a 9-8 score, including a 7-3 tiebreaker. The no. 3 pairing of Grady Hauswirth (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) and Gavin Mangan (Henderson, Nev./Basic Academy) won 9-7.

Singles

Josiah Borst (Becker, Minn./Becker) won his set by a 6-2, 6-4 score in the no. spot, while Will Sherman (Baton Rouge, La./St. Michael) won 6-3 and 6-2 against Jordan Poff of the Vikings. Petar Bulatovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Lee Academy) had a come-from-behind outing, winning his first set 7-5, fell behind 4-6 in the second, but then stormed back for a 10-5 tiebreaker.

"We fought hard today and came out with another solid win!" said head coach Kolin Dean.

The Yellowjackets will play this Tuesday in a rescheduled match with Northwestern in Lakeville. First serve set for 6 p.m.
