DULUTH, Minn. (April 29, 2018) – The Yellowjackets wrapped up their regular season with a tough loss at St. Scholastica Sunday afternoon.

Doubles

The pairing Leonardo Paredes (Campinas, Brazil/Sao Paschoall) and Chad Hietala (Aurora, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) pushed back in their doubles matchup with Elliot Schneideri and Bryce Gadke, but fell by an 8-4 score. The other 'Jacket pairings fell 8-0 and 8-1.

Singles

Josiah Borst (Becker, Minn./Becker) saw a loss at the no. 1 position, but forced two tough sets at 6-3 and 7-5, while Grady Hauswirth (Farmington, Minn./Farmington) forced a tiebreaker in his no. 6 spot with 6-3 first set win, but eventually lost 7-10.

Petar Bulatovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Lee Academy) also put up a fight at no. 4, but was beat 6-4 and 6-2.

Head coach Kolin Dean was proud of their performance: "We played well, but just couldn't put the piece together today; it was a solid outing none the less."

The Yellowjackets (10-6, 5-2 UMAC) will face Northwestern on Wednesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. on the road for the first round of the UMAC Tournament.
