NORTHFIELD, Minn. - After a victory over St. Olaf the UWS men's tennis team headed across Northfield to take on Carleton. Saturday was a different story to Friday as the Yellowjackets fell to the Knights 6-1.  

Match Notes: 

• The Yellowjackets could not take advantage of any double matchups as the pairings of Igor Guetten Chaves (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) and Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber), Yash Chhabra (Jaipur, Rajasthan/Sanskar School) and Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School) and Adam Culp (Metamora, Ill./Metamora Township) and Keanu Lin (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) all fell by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-4.  

• In the No. 1 singles matchup Guetten Chaves was able to secure the Yellowjackets' lone point on the afternoon taking down Baiyun Jing by scores of 6-4, 3-6 and 11-9 in the tiebreaker set.  

• Kanugovi dropped his singles match by scores of 6-1, 7-6 (7-5). Chhabra dropped his singles match dropping each set by scores of 6-2.  

• Sakakibara was unable to capture any sets against his opponent, losing both sets by scores of 6-1. 

• Rounding out the action for UWS was Mateo Abarca Pino (Riobamba, Ecuador/El Despertar) who lost his match by scores of 6-4 and 6-2 while Lin dropped his match by the scores of 6-3 and 6-1.  

UWS is next in action at home next Saturday as they will host Macalester. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Yellowjacket Outdoor Tennis Complex.
