SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's tennis team saw three of its student-athletes recognized on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District squad, the organization released Tuesday. The list featured sophomore duo of
Brandon Chu (Rogers, Minn./Rogers) and
Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School), along with junior
Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber).

Chu, a computer science major that maintains a 3.91 GPA, ended his sophomore season with a singles record of 10-11. Versus Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) competition he collected a four-match winning streak in singles while garnering two four-match winning streaks during doubles action. For his efforts, he was honored with a spot on the All-UMAC First Team.

Kanugovi studies business administration and boasts a 3.58 GPA. The 2024-25 season saw him collect his first All-UMAC First Team honor with a 9-11 singles record in the top two positions and garner a clean sweep of conference matches, leading to his first postseason distinction from the College Sports Communicators.

Sakakibara holds a 3.83 GPA studying both finance and economics. He logged a second team distinction after going 2-0 in his conference singles matches, while finishing doubles play with an overall record of 11-6. All 11 victories came alongside teammate
Igor Guetten Chaves (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) at Nos. 1-2 positions on his way to an all-district tab from the CSC.

The Yellowjackets captured the UMAC Regular Season Championship during the 2025 season before falling in the postseason tournament championship to Principia.
