SAINT PETER, Minn. / STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's tennis team wrapped up action this weekend at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and Midwest Regionals, along with action versus UW-Stevens Point.
 
Saturday Match Notes

• At the Midwest Invite, Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber) took down Wartburg 7-5, 6-3 before taking down his UW-Stevens Point counterpart 6-1, 6-0.
• Keanu Lin (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Edgewood before falling to Northwestern 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8).
• Facing the Pointers, Adam Culp (Metamora, Ill./Metamora Township) picked up a pair of wins in singles play. He took down UWSP 6-1, 7-6 (8) and Wartburg's counterparts 6-1, 6-0.
• Marcos Labella Parrilla (Malaga, Spain/IES Emilio Prados) went 1-1 on the day, defeating the Pointers 6-4, 6-3 before falling to Wartburg 6-0, 6-1.
• Also going 1-1 on the day was Blake Haugen (Fairmont, Minn./Fairmont), falling to Wartburg 6-1, 7-5 before takin down UWSP 6-0, 6-3.
• Justin Sauze (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) dropped a pair of matches Saturday, losing 6-1, 6-2 and 7-5, 6-7 (7) and 1-0 (6) to Stevens Point.
• Winning 6-2, 6-0 before falling 2-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6) on the day was Ezekiel Ribar (Saint Peter, Minn./Saint Peter). Caden Chesla (Isanti, Minn./Homeschool) dropped his singles matches to Wartburg 6-2, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-2.
• Corbin Halstensgard (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) suffered losses to UW-Stevens Point and Wartburg 6-2, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
• Gavin Brown (Isanti, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) picked up a pair of 6-4, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-2 wins Saturday, while Zac Gebert (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) dropped 6-1, 7-5 and 6-3, 6-1 decisions.
• Doubles action featured Igor Guetten Chaves (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) and Sakakibara fall to Carthage 8-2. Kanugovi and Chhabra fell to UW-Whitewater 8-5, while Abarca Pino and Lin dropped an 8-4 decision to the Pointers.
• Culp and Haugen picked up a pair of wins against UWSP (8-3) and fellow teammates Parrilla and Chesla (8-4).
• Winning 8-3 was Sauze and Ribar over the Pointers before dropping an 8-2 decision to Wartburg.
• Halstensgard and McClimek rounded out the day with an 8-7 (4) win over their teammates and an 8-3 win over UWSP.

Sunday Match Notes

• Culp took down Wartburg 6-3, 6-1 in singles play, while Parrilla fell 6-3, 6-2 to Wartburg.
• Taking down Wartburg was Haugen, claiming 6-1, 6-1 decisions.
• Sauze played Chesla and collected 6-0, 6-2 victories, while Ribar took down UW-Stevens Point 6-3, 6-4.
• Halstensgard lost 6-2, 6-4 to his fellow teammate Gebert, while G. Brown secured victories over Wartburg (6-4, 6-4) and UWSP (6-2, 6-2) before falling 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (5).
• Culp and Haugen lost to their Wartburg counterparts 8-4 before Parrilla and Chesla fell 8-7 (7) to UWSP.
• UWSP took down Sauze and Ribar 8-2, along with the duo of Gebert and G. Brown. Halstensgard and McClimek rounded out the day with an 8-7(2) loss to Wartburg.

 
The Yellowjackets travel to St. Olaf Friday to continue non-conference play. The opening serve is set for 4 p.m.
