RICE LAKE, Wis. - The Yellowjacket men's golf team was in action Friday as they hosted the opening day of the UWS Spring Invite. The two Yellowjacket squads in action found themselves in third and fourth place, respectively, after day one.
Match Notes:
- Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) and Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) paced Yellowjacket Team A both firing six over rounds of 77 on Friday.
- Trevor Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior) and Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) carded rounds of 11 and 12 over on their respective rounds.
- Rounding out the Team A competitors was Andrew Rude (Superior, Wis./Superior) who finished his round shooting a 84 with a 40/44 split.
- Competing for Team B was Sam Brennan (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) who finished his round seven over par.
- August Lang (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) fired a 79 for his round good for eighth place in the tournament.
- JD Glampe (Green Bay, Wis./Luxemburg Casco) and Cole Moore (Little Rock, Ark./Sabetha) each finished there rounds with an 11 over par 82.
- Rounding out the Yellowjacket competitors was Caden Knutson (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) and Kobe Grant (Vernon, British Columbia/South Kamloops Secondary), who finished 16 over and 23 over, respectively.
The Yellowjackets are set to tee off for round two of the UWS Spring Invite tomorrow starting at 11 a.m. from Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake.
