SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Another trio of Yellowjackets were honored by the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tuesday, as
Larissa Snyder (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park),
Kyle Peterson (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) and
Yash Chhabra (Jaipur, Rajasthan/Sanskar School) all received weekly plaudits, the league announced.
Snyder exploded offensively for Superior this week. In 16 at bats, she had 11 hits with four doubles, two triples and a homer with 10 RBIs. Additionally, she drew a pair of walks and stole a base in this week's UMAC contests.
Peterson set yet another school record Saturday at the inaugural Dan Conway Classic. His 14.62-second finish in the 110-meter hurdles gave him first place, a personal best, and currently ranks 31st in all of NCAA Division III.
Chhabra posted a pair of victories on Friday and Saturday, leading the Yellowjackets to the No. 1 seed of the UMAC Tournament. Alongside
Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School), they defeated Crown 6-2 and Bethany Lutheran 6-1 while Chhabra claimed 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 7-6 victories in singles play.
The Yellowjacket softball team is back in action Wednesday as they take on bridge-rival St. Scholastica. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Kenwood Field.
The Yellowjacket track and field team stays home for the 2026 UMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend. Friday's events are set to begin at 2 p.m. at SCCU Stadium.
The Yellowjacket men's tennis team has earned the No. 1 seed in the UMAC Tournament. They will take on Mississippi University for Women Friday at 4:30 p.m. inside the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
