Yellowjackets Lead 2026 UMAC Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's soccer team was predicted to finish first in the 2026 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, announced by the league Monday.
 
UW-Superior claimed five-of-seven first place votes and 34 points in the poll of UMAC coaches. In second place was Northwestern, claiming 32 points and the final two first-place votes.
 
UWS returns a senior duo of Mercedes Domjahn (New Germany, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) and Emma Wright (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji), alongside junior Niamh Larson (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield). Domjahn logged 1,559 minutes on the pitch in 21 matches last season, while Wright garnered 16 points (six goals, four assists) and Larson fired 12 goals and 10 assists for 34 points.
 
In third place was Bethany Lutheran with 27 points, followed by Minnesota Morris (18), Crown (16), and Martin Luther (14). Rounding out the poll with six points was North Central.
 
The Yellowjackets open the regular season Friday, Sept. 4, where they take on St. Olaf. Action at Rolf Mellby Field is set for 4 p.m.
