SAINT PETER, Minn. – Select members of the Yellowjacket women's tennis team opened action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional and the Gustie Invite Friday, hosted at various locations within the Saint Peter area by Gustavus Adolphus. The 'Jackets fared well on day one, providing strong momentum for day two of the event on Saturday.

- Elif Oezen (Rheda-Wiedenbrueck, Germany/Einstein Gymnasium) picked up a victory over UW-Whitewater's Kaitlyn Remke, falling 4-6 before rebounding and coming back 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). She advanced to take on Brooklyn Keller from St. Catherine, defeating her 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (14-12). Oezen will now advance to the singles round of 32.
- Kate Jonas (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) took on Hamline's Vanessa Pham in singles play, falling 6-0, 6-3.
- Lillian Kimber (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) faced off against Dari Streater from Macalester. She would fall 4-1, 2-4, 0-1 (2-10).
- Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills) picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Hamline's Elanna Kohner before falling 6-0, 6-2 to Gustavus Adolphus's Rika Cross.
- The duo of Curtis and Oezen picked up an 8-1 win over UW-River Falls' Brooke Lindeman and Sydney Weiner before falling 8-4 to Michaella Sullivan and Claire Keller from Bethel.
Saturday's action at the ITA Midwest Regional and the Gustie Invite is set to begin at 9 a.m.
