Yellowjackets Announce 2021-22 Track and Field Slate

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Superior men's and women's track and field teams will compete in at least seven regular-season events during indoor season, as head coach Glen Drexler announced the 2021-22 schedule on Monday.
 
The Yellowjackets will also host the 2022 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Feb. 25-26 at Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse.
 
UWS begins the season at The Opener at St. Scholastica's Burns Wellness Commons on Dec. 11 at noon. The 'Jackets then host the Twin Ports Open Jan. 22 at 11 a.m., before heading to the two-day Warren Bowlus Open at UW-Stout on Jan. 28-29.
 
UWS will compete at the UWRF Winter Classic on Feb. 5 in River Falls, Wis., at 11 a.m. the St. Thomas Showcase is the next week, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m., followed by the Yellowjacket Open Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.
 
After the UMAC championship, select student-athletes will compete at the NCAA Last-Chance Qualifier at Wartburg on March 5.
 
The outdoor season features seven regular-season meets and will get underway March 21 with PLNU Collegiate Invitational at Point Loma Nazarene in San Diego, Calif.
 
The Hamline Invitational is set for April 2, followed by the Falcon Invite at UW-River Falls April 9. The 'Jackets are at Gustavus Adolphus for the Lee Krough Invitational April 14 and the Bulldog Open at Minnesota Duluth on April 21.
 
The Phil Esten Challenge at UW-La Crosse is slated for April 22-23, prior to the Drake Relays Alternative at Gustavus on April 30. 
 
The UMAC outdoor championships, hosted by Minnesota Morris, are set for May 6-7 after while UWS will take part in the Eagle Open (May 13), North Central Combined Events Qualifier (May 16-17) and the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier (May 19).
