LA CROSSE, Wis. – A select group of Yellowjackets competed for the UW-Superior men's track and field team at the Eagle Open at UW-La Crosse's Veterans Memorial Sports Complex Friday.
Freshman
Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona) was third in the 200-meter dash in 22.90, followed by classmate
Andrew Grabarkewitz (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids Senior) with a fifth-place time of 23.26.
Grabarkewitz finished sixth overall in the 100-meter dash finals with a wind-aided 11.18. Westimayer was eighth in the event, running 11.20.
Freshman
Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) finished eighth in the 400 meters in 51.03, while senior
Tyler Finger (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville) ran 16th in the 1,500 meters in 4:08.45.
Junior
Derrick Moe (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet) placed ninth in the 5,000 meters in a time of 16:13.07 and freshman
Alex Fike (St. Paul, Minn./Harding Senior) was 14th in 17:08.66.
Freshmen
Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) and
Nate Huju (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids Senior) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.78 and 17.31.
Senior
Travis Gee (Minocqua, Wis./Lakeland Union) placed third in the steeplechase in 10:40.43.
Freshman
Mitchell Peterson (Foley, Minn./Foley) was seventh in the high jump with a leap of 1.63 meters (Five feet, 4.25 inches). Pearson finished eighth overall in the long jump in 5.58 meters (18 feet, 3.75 inches).
The meet was not scored.
UWS will complete again at La Crosse on Wednesday in the UWL NCAA Final Qualifier at 3 p.m.
