SUPERIOR, Wis. – Junior
Alexxa DeQuevedo (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelley) won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.67 seconds, highlighting the UW-Superior women's track and field team's third-place finish in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference indoor championships at Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse on Saturday.

UWS scored 110 points in the two-day event. Minnesota Morris won its second consecutive indoor title with 223 points and Bethany Lutheran was second with 151.

DeQuevedo also ran second in the 200-meter dash in 28.11 with junior
Chloe Higgins (Lakeland, Fla./Superior Senior) sixth in 28.56.

Higgins finished second in the 60-meter dash 8.36.

Senior
Nicole Koski (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) was third in the 3,000-meter run in 11:31.20 while sophomore Jenna Scanlon was seventh in 12:28.31. Junior
Kennedy Robelia (Durand, Wis./Durand) was just behind in 12:28.38.

Higgins finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 2.25 meters while
Kenzy Kreuzer (Stoddard, Wis./De Soto) was fifth at 1.95 meters.Â

Kasha Hughlett (Maple, Wis./Northwestern) placed fourth in shot put with a distance of 9.98 meters. Freshmen
Emma Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Falls) finished fourth (8.82 meters) and
Kenzie Tuura (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) was seventh (8.22).

Junior
Jess Newman (Wanamingo, Minn./Pine Island) was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 8.67 meters. Newman was also seventh in the 60 hurdles (11.41), while also running the leadoff leg in Superior's 4x400-meter relay entry. That squad also consisting of Kreuzer, sophomore
Matti Johnson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) and DeQuevedo ran 4:52.96 for fourth place.

Northwestern finished fourth in the team standings with 65 points, followed by Crown (48) and North Central (27).

The Yellowjackets are back in action at Wartburg's NCAA Last-Chance Qualifier next Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
