RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Senior
Derrick Moe (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet Senior) won the mile run at the UWRF Winter Classic at Knowles Field House on Saturday, highlighting a strong day for the UW-Superior men's track and field team.

Moe ran a personal-record time of 4:26.28, besting a field of five by more than 23 seconds. The Yellowjackets also posted three second-place finishes on the day to go along with 15 total PRs.Â

The distance-medley real team of
Mitchell Hammer (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln),
David Collins (Ironwood, Mich./Luther L. Wright),
Michael Butterfield (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) and
Connor Nelson (Rockford, Ill./Rockford Lutheran) finished runner up in 11:42.11.
Gage Stankiewicz (Esko, Minn./Esko) was also second in the shot put with a personal-record mark of 15.37 meters.

Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) was second in the high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters.

Ethan Westimayer (Laona, Wis./Laona) finished fifth in the 200-meter dash.

Nate Ohman (Lake Nebagamon, Wis./Northwestern) was fifth in the shot put with a mark of 12.92 meters.

Iain Matheson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior), Westimayer and
Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) finished seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 400-meter dash is times of 52.90, 53.12 and 53.47.
