LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Throwers Kasha Hughlett (Maple, Wis./Northwestern) and Emma Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Falls) competed in the discus throw for the UW-Superior track and field team at the Phil Esten Challenge on Friday at the Veterans Memorial Sports Complex.
 
Hughlett finished 26th overall in a field of 52 while Erickson placed 37th. Hughlett's only mark of the competition came on her second attempt at 32.01 meters. Erickson threw 29.44 meters on her third attempt. 
 
The meet continues Saturday with day-two action beginning at 10 a.m.
