COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Senior LeAnn Gow (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) and junior Kasha Hughlett (Maple, Wis./Northwestern) each won events for the UW-Superior women's track and field team at the Saint John's Last-Minute Invitational at Clemens Stadium on Friday.
 
Gow took the 400-meter dash and Hughlett claimed the hammer throw as the Yellowjackets scored 32 points to finish fifth overall in the team standings. Gow's won the 400 in 59.42 while Hughlett threw 47.48 meters in the for the hammer title.
 
Gow also was runner up in the 200 meters in 26.66 with Kenzy Kreuzer (Stoddard, Wis./De Soto) 10th in that race in 32.16. Kreuzer was also 10th in the 400 in 1:14.04.
 
Hughlett finished sixth in the discus with a mark of 36.40 meters.. Emma Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Falls) also placed seventh in the hammer throw at 38.46 meters.
 
UWS now prepares for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championships Friday and Saturday at Cougar Track in Morris Minn.
