MORRIS Minn. -- The UW-Superior women's track and field team finished third in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference outdoor championship at Cougar Track on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets scored 144 points to finish behind meet host Minnesota Morris with 216 points and Bethany Lutheran with 149.
Senior
LeAnn Gow (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) won both the 100 and 400 meters in times of 12.40 and 1:00.94.
Alexxa DeQuevedo (Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelley) was second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.06), while also finishing second in the 4x400-meter relay with teammates
Meagan Berg (Tomahawk, Wis./Tomahawk),
Matti Johnson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) and Gow. The group ran 4:33.80.
Nicole Koski (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) finished second in the 5,000 in 20:52.22 while
Jeanna Scanlon (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) was seventh in 22:21.61.
DeQuevedo was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.38 meters and teamed with
Kenzy Kreuzer (Stoddard, Wis./De Soto),
Jess Newman (Wanamingo, Minn./Pine Island) and Gow to finish third in the 4x100 in 55.96.
The Yellowjackets went 3-4-8 in the discus with
Emma Erickson (International Falls, Minn./Falls) throwing 32.21,
Kasha Hughlett (Maple, Wis./Northwestern) throwing 28.68 meters and
Kenzie Tuura (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) throwing 27.56 meters.
Martin Luther finished fourth in the team standings with 140 points, Crown was fifth with 35, Northwestern sixth with 33 and North Central was seventh with 30.
