WHITEWATER, Wis. and SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's tennis tab was a split squad, playing in two places Friday. One half competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional on the campus of UW-Whitewater, while the other half competed on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus.
 
During the ITA Midwest Regional, freshman Giulia Araujo De Barros () opened the day in the ITA singles draw with a 6-1, 6-0 loss to Syd Presler from UW-Eau Claire.
 
Sophomore Andreina Tejada (Quito, Ecuador/Isaac Newton) would also fall 6-2, 6-0 to Michaella Sullivan of Bethel, while freshman Maya Haupt () would fall 6-2, 6-0 to Alex Repplier of tournament-host UW-Whitewater.
 
Claudia Curtis () would round out the Yellowjackets competing at the ITA, falling 6-3, 6-4 against Maddy Coopmans from Edgewood.
 
On the campus of Gustavus Adolphus for doubles play, Daylyn Drew (Negaunee, Mich./Negaunee) and Stella Harris () were faced against Anna Luksik and Marie Pelletier from St. Catherine in their first round. Luksik and Pelletier would come up with the 6-1 victory. During the second round, Maya Nibbe and Taylor Vyskocil from St. Scholastica would earn the 6-1 decision over Drew and Harris. The third round came with a better outcome, as Drew and Harris defeated Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) foe Bethany Lutheran 6-2.
 
Next up was another freshmen duo of Kylie Coel () and Kate Jonas (), who took a 6-3 decision against Concordia (Minn.) Hamre and Lowry. In the semifinal match, the freshman tandem defeated Gianna Akins and Amy Whitcomb of Coe 6-3.
 
The final doubles action of the day would feature Brooke Wilfong (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) and Jessi Kukowski (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown). The duo would defeat St. Olaf's Charlotte Sloane and Polly Danylova by a 6-1 decision. For the second and third rounds, the duo would fall 6-0 and 6-4 to Elise Jarchow and Analise Marquardt of Northwestern, and Elena Rezevich and Lillian Kimber of Saint Mary's, respectively.
 
In singles action, Kukowski fell to Elise Jarchow 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), while teammate Jonas defeated Hannah LeMay from Bethany Lutheran in a 6-3, 6-2 decision. Faith Simon of St. Catherine's would defeat Wilfong 6-2, 6-1, while Elliana Loesch of St. Olaf would best Drew 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9).
 
Rounding out the singles action for the Yellowjackets was Harris and Coel. Harris defeated Gianna Akins of Coe 6-3, 6-1, while Coel would fall to Rayna Baumgarn of Northwestern 7-6 (7-4), 6-0, 1-0 (10-2).
 
Both Yellowjacket squads are back in action Saturday.
