BECKER, Minn. – Thursday marked day one of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championships for the Yellowjacket men's golf team. Following the first round of action at Pebble Creek Golf Club, the 'Jackets got started on the right foot, sitting atop the individual and team leaderboards after a collective 301.
Round One Notes
- Highlighting the day was Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing), ending the day one-under and leading the field of UMAC competitors. His round featured 12 pars, two birdies and an eagle to finish with a 71.
- Both Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) and Andrew Rude (Superior, Wis./Superior) garnered identical 39/37 splits to finish with four-over 76's. Anderson had five birdies while Rude had four.
- Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) followed shooting a 78, while Trevor Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior) rounded out the day with an 81.
- Following in second place was Northwestern (302) and Bethany Lutheran securing third place (309).
Day two of the conference championships begins Friday, with tee times set to begin at 11 a.m.
