BECKER, Minn. – Saturday rounded out the third and final day of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship for the Yellowjacket men's golf team. Superior held strong on all three days, and Saturday it came down to the wire.
Following the third round, a three-player playoff was played to determine medalist honors, and
Andrew Rude (Superior, Wis./Superior) prevailed with a three-day total of 223. For the Yellowjackets, they secured their third conference crown in the last four years.
Round Three Notes
- On the day, Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) led the way with a two-over 74, shooting par or better on 14 holes.
- Rude capped his day with a 39/36 split, eventually claiming medalist honors alongside his teammate, Slatten.
- Trevor Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior) carded a 77 on the day, adding a pair of birdies on his Saturday round.
- Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) and Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) followed, shooting rounds of 79 and 80, respectively.
The Yellowjackets conclude fall action and will compete in meets throughout the spring in preparation for the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. The tournament is scheduled for May 12-15 at the Mission Report & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
