SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Yellowjackets saw two of its student-athletes named to the first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) athlete of the week list in 2025-26. Sophomore Makenna Hohbein (Holdingford, Minn./Holdingford) and senior Andrew Rude (Superior, Wis./Superior) picked up weekly honors from the league Wednesday.
 
Hohbein led the Yellowjackets' offensive output this weekend at the Ripon College Classic. Playing in all 17 sets, she logged 60 kills while adding five assists, four service aces 64.5 points.
 
Rude led the 'Jackets in this past weekend's Augsburg Fall Invite. In round one he fired four birdies and 10 pars for an even-par round of 72 before finishing his weekend with a one-over 73, featuring 14 pars and a pair of birdies. On the individual leaderboard he ended the tournament tied for second place.
 
The Yellowjacket volleyball team returns to the court this weekend in the Saint Paul Tournament. Their first of four matches comes against Wartburg, scheduled for 4 p.m. on the campus of St. Catherine.
 
The Yellowjacket golf team prepares to host the Twin Ports Collegiate. Round one is set for Saturday with the first tee times set for 9:35 a.m. at Nemadji Golf Course.
