SAINT MICHAEL, Minn. – The Fox Hollow Golf Course welcomed the UNW Invite Tuesday, where the Yellowjacket men's golf team sent two teams into action. The first Superior group came in fourth place with a team score of 306, while the Yellowjacket B team finished the day tied in sixth place at 316.
Tournament Notes
- Andrew Slatten (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) led the day for UW-Superior, serving as the only Yellowjacket to shoot under par. His front nine featured eight pars in a row and a birdie on the par-four ninth, while adding two more birdies on the back nine for a one-under 70. He finished in a tie for third place individually.
- Matthew Unger (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond) and Blu Anderson (Amery, Wis./Amery) followed, shooting rounds of 77 and 79, respectively. Unger fired four birdies while Anderson logged three of his own.
- Andrew Rude (Superior, Wis./Superior) (80) and August Lang (Somerset, Wis./Somerset) (81) rounded out the first team, both shooting one-under on the par-five fifth.
- Dillon Scheufeli (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) led the B team with a seven-over 78. Both Sam Brennan (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) and JD Glampe (Green Bay, Wis./Luxemburg Casco) logged rounds of 79 on the day.
- Cole Moore (Little Rock, Ark./Sabetha) and Trevor Durfee (Superior, Wis./Superior) wrapped up the Yellowjacket participants Tuesday, logging a nine-over 80 and a 10-over 81, respectively.
UW-Superior now turns its attention to the Twin Ports Collegiate, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Round one's tee times are set to begin at 9:35 a.m. at Nemadji Golf Course.
