SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Yellowjackets had two members of its track and field teams in
Ethan Bowe (Chetek, Wis./Chetek-Weyerhaeuser) and
KelliJoy Manninen (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) named athletes of the week by the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), the league announced Tuesday.
Bowe took second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.07 seconds while garnering third place in the 200-meter dash with a personal best time of 23.10 seconds. In the UMAC, he ranks first in the 60-meter dash while ranking second in the 200-meter dash.
Manninen leaped to a new personal record in the high jump this weekend at the CSB/SJU Invite. Her mark of 1.54 meters now leads the UMAC and also serves as a personal best. In the north region, she ranks 19th overall.
The Yellowjacket track and field teams will return to action this week at the Warren Bowlus Invite. Select individuals will compete on Friday in the multi's while the rest of the team will begin action on Saturday.
