ST. PAUL, Minn. – After winning its fourth consecutive UMAC indoor title, the league announced the UW-Superior men's track and team's all-conference honors Wednesday.
 
The Yellowjackets won five times at the meet and 12 student-athletes in a total of nine different events earned all-UMAC recognition. CJ Pillath (Coleman, Wis./Coleman) was named UMAC Field Athlete of the Meet for the third time and head coach Glen Drexler earned Coach of the Year accolades for the fourth time.
 
Pillath won both the weight throw and shot put. In the weight, his toss of 19.01 meters won the event by over four meters for a new meet record. He posted another meet-record distance in the shot put of 16.32 meters.
 
Other event victories went to senior Brett Goplen (Hugo, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran Academy) in the high jump, clearing 1.83 meters, and the distance medley relay and 4x200-meter relay squads. The DMR team of Tyler Finger (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville), Evan Nelson (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), Isaiah Arntson (Esko, Minn./Proctor) and Eddie Carlson (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul Secondary) finished in 11:06.49. The 4x200 quartet of Michael Knaack (Maple, Wis./Northwestern), Steven Pearson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior), Lennon Shimon (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea Senior) and Jake Weston (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert Senior) ran 1:33.02.
 
Carlson scored 24.5 points on the weekend, the fifth-highest total in the meet. He was also all-conference in the 800-meter run (second, 2:01.02) and mile run (second, 4:26.60).
 
Goplen earned all-conference plaudits in the 60-meter hurdles, as well, finishing second in that event in 8.94.
 
Sophomore Tanner Lee (Siren, Wis./Siren) finished second to Pillath in the weight throw, earning all-conference recognition with a top toss of 14.90 meters. 
 
Junior Derrick Moe (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet) was second in the 5,000-meter run in 16:39.27, earning all-conference there.

Senior Andre Couture (Culver, Minn./Cloquet) was named the 'Jackets representative on the UMAC Sportsmanship Team.
