Brian Barker spent two seasons at UW-Superior, bringing a bagful of talent to the Yellowjackets following two years at Northern Michigan University. Barker helped the Yellowjackets to the final four in both 1996 and 1997 and was among the top scorers on both teams, leading the team in goals as a junior and assists as a senior.

A two-time AHCA All-American, Barker was also a two-time All-NCHA selection. Barker scored the game-winning goal in double overtime of the 1997 national semifinal, giving the Yellowjackets the chance to play for a national championship the next day.
