Jon Garver is the recipient of the Carl Vergamini Contributions to Yellowjacket Athletics Award. He was a member of the Yellowjacket men's hockey team from 1994-1998, skating in three NCAA Frozen Fours. During his time as a graduate assistant with University Theater, he would begin broadcasting Yellowjacket men's hockey games on 91.3 KUWS. Despite working with the United States Hockey League (USHL) for two stints in 2001-04 and 2006-09, Garver would still dawn a headset and call away games for the Yellowjackets.

Before accepting a different position in 2010, Garver would return to his alma mater as the marketing and fundraising specialist. He would climb the ladder as the sports information director and later, director of athletic communications. Garver would serve in these roles for 15 years before beginning a new role as a major gift officer at UW-Superior in 2025. Throughout this time, he still broadcasts Yellowjacket men's hockey on 91.3 KUWS and Yellowjacket TV.

With over 600 broadcasts to his credit upon his induction, Garver has been honored by the Wisconsin Broadcaster's Association on various occasions. To date, he has received five awards, including first place in the Best Sports Play-by-Play category in 2025.

This marks the third induction for Garver into the UW-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame. He was inducted in 2007 as part of the 1996-97 men's hockey team that finished second in the nation, and went in again eight years later for his role as an assistant coach on the 2000-01 team.
