Donald Hartlund of Walnut Creek, Calif., is one of the all-time great Yellowjacket basketball players. He enters the Hall of Fame as the second-leading scorer in school history with 1,465 points.

Hartlund played for the Yellowjackets from 1965-69, and was noted for being an outstanding player both offensively and defensively. He was named team captain and Most Valuable Player for the 1967-68 and 1968-69 seasons.

He led the conference in points scored per game during the 1968-69 season, and that year was named to the all-conference team and received Honorable Mention for the NAIA all-district team.

After graduating, Hartlund was a member for two seasons of the U.S. Navy's pacific basketball team, playing with and against Division I competition. He became a successful businessman, rising to the position of vice president of Deibert Associates, the largest seafood brokerage company in northern California.
