A stalwart on the Yellowjacket blue line, Chris Chelios was part of the Yellowjacket hockey team for five seasons, accepting a medical hardship from the NCAA following a serious knee injury as a sophomore. 

Chelios appeared in three final fours in his career, helping the Yellowjackets to a fourth-place finish in 1995 and runner-up finishes in 1997 and 1999. The top-scoring defenseman in school history, Chelios was a two-time All-NCHA pick and a two-time AHCA All-American.

  • Career Statistics: 120 games played, 26 goals, 89 assists, 115 points
  • Highest scoring defenseman in school history
  • Assistant captain as a sophomore, junior, and senior
  • Played in three NCAA Final Fours
  • First All-NCHA in 1996-97 and 1998-99
  • First Team All-WIAC in 1997-98 and 1998-99
  • AHCA Second Team All-American in 1996-97
  • AHCA First Team All-American in 1998-99
  • Ranks 10th all-time in assists
  • Led team in assists as a junior
