A local product, Cody Kastern decided against leaving town to play college basketball, and instead stayed in Superior, immediately making an impact on the men’s basketball program and the conference, forcing other teams to game plan to stop him.
After not missing a game in his first two years, Kastern took off as a junior, leading the Yellowjackets in multiple offensive categories while collecting All-WIAC First Team honors. The following season Street and Smith’s National Preview named him an NCAA Division III Pre-Season All-American, and Kastern didn’t disappoint. Once again he led the Yellowjackets in just about every offensive category, and for the second year in a row was named All-WIAC First Team.
