University of Wisconsin-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame
Following a successful two-year stint at Hibbing Community College, Baron, a native of Chisholm, Minn. came to UW-Superior and helped ignite the Yellowjacket offense. Playing with high scorers and fellow hall of fame members Tom Doig and Casey Van Damme, Baron posted 53 points in his first season and followed that with 52 the next year as the trio became one of the highest-scoring groups in the nation. He averaged 1.75 points per game and averaged more than an assist per game in his career and was the fastest player in program history to reach the 100-point mark. He earned NAIA All-American honors in 1980.
