Scott Van Damme of Superior, Wis., led the Yellowjacket men's hockey team to its first national championship. He enters the Hall of Fame as the team's all-time leading goal-scorer.

Mr. Van Damme played in 107 games for the Yellowjackets from 1974 to 1978. He was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 1976, the season the Yellowjackets won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national hockey championship. In 1978 he was named an All-American in hockey.

A teammate described Mr. Van Damme as "the greatest and purest goal-scorer I've ever seen." As an indication of that skill, Mr. Van Damme graduated as the team's all-time leading goal-scorer with 102 career goals — a record still standing in 2005.

Mr. Van Damme has remained active in hockey over the years, coaching boys and girls hockey at a variety of levels.
