Dan Stauber has done just about everything there is to do with the Yellowjacket men’s hockey program. He enjoyed a decorated career as a player, compiling more than 100 points in just 88 games between 1984 and 1988. He was an assistant coach for two teams that reached the NCAA Frozen Four in 1999 and 2000.
In the summer of 2000 he was elevated to head coach and immediately brought the program to new heights. In his first year, the Yellowjackets set a program record with 30 wins while finishing third in the nation. The magic continued the next year, as the Yellowjackets returned to the Frozen Four, and this team sealed the deal, coming from behind to defeat Norwich University in overtime, claiming the second national championship in program history.
In 16 seasons as head coach, Dan led the Yellowjackets to 258 wins, which sits as a program record. He led five teams to the NCAA Tournament and coached 18 players to All-American status.
