University of Wisconsin-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame
Known as Janne Hassi during his Yellowjacket career, Kivihalme joined the Yellowjackets in 1994 after transferring from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Kivihalme made an immediate impact and became a mainstay of the Yellowjacket defense corps. An All-NCHA pick in 1995-96, Kivihalme was named an AHCA All-American in both 1996 and 1997 and was a part of three Yellowjacket teams that reached the NCAA Final Four.
