Sandy Eilertsen of Washburn, Wis., was a top-quality athlete in three sports who earned a prominent position in the University of Wisconsin-Superior record books.

Eilertsen competed in volleyball from 1983-86, basketball from 1983-87, and softball from 1984-87. During those years she earned numerous all-conference and all-district honors. She was named the Yellowjackets' most valuable player in each sport, including three consecutive years as a softball player.

Her collegiate honors included Most Dedicated Female Athlete in 1985, Female Athlete of the Year in 1986 and Most Outstanding Female Athlete in 1987. She graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer in women's basketball with 1,300 points, and holds the record for most points scored in a season, with 433 in 1983-84. She also ranks in the top five in numerous record categories in basketball and volleyball.

After graduating in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Eilertsen coached girls' basketball, volleyball and softball in local schools. She served for a year as volleyball and softball coach at UW-Superior and served as the university's women's basketball coach.
