University of Wisconsin-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame
David Graichen is one of the all-time great Yellowjacket hockey goaltenders, entering the Hall of Fame holding school records in several categories. He earns the distinction of being inducted both as an individual and as a member of the 1993-1994 and the 1996-97 men's hockey teams.
Graichen played in 96 games from 1993-97, the most of any goaltender in team history. He holds the record for all-time saves with 2,482, and also holds the records for single-season save percentage and single-season games played. Among non-active players, he is second in all-time wins, all-time save percentage and all-time shutouts.
For his accomplishments, Graichen was named All-American three times and All-NCHA once. He also was named to the NCHA All-Academic team multiple times.
With  Graichen in goal much of the time, the Yellowjackets captured NCHA regular season and playoff titles, and WSUC titles. The team appeared in four NCAA Division III championship tournaments, placing second twice.
A fellow Yellowjacket described Mr. Graichen as "a great player, a great scholar-athlete and a great teammate."
